Surplus lots of powder certainly do vary in burning characteristics as it is all "non-canister" powder, so to speak, so each large lot is tested and appropriate adjustments made to the charges in the ammunition loaded with it. This chart gives an approximation of where the powders fit within their relative burn rates. The burn rate is slightly slower than H1000, loads using the AA8700 were way over pressured. I have the 860 and know how slow it is and am wanting to know if the 867 is a bit faster. May 6, 2012 · The instructions say its burn rate is near AA8700, this is not what we have found.
